Become Involved

Since our launch in September 2010 we have been delighted by the support of Islington residents which is allowing us to invest in young people, tackle poverty and confront isolation. Much has been done however there is still much to do. We would be thrilled if you might consider becoming involved and there are many ways you can become involved:
1. Find out about Islington
Did you know that Islington is one of the most deprived areas in the country? Come on one of our Inside Islington walking tours to find out more about Islington and the amazing work that is being done, check out our blog or sign-up for our email newsletter.
2. Spread the word
We want more people to know about the facts of Islington and the fantastic work of organisations in the borough helping to address these issues and are truly making a difference to our local community. We would love your support in spreading the word by telling your friends, family, colleagues and neighbours about Islington Giving.
3. Give money
Donating to Islington Giving is easy, whether you’re an individual, business, trust or foundation. Donate, either as a one-off or by setting up a regular payment, to make a real difference to your local community. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your donation or click here to read more about your giving options.
4. Fundraise
There are many ways you can fundraise and support the campaign. Why not set yourself a personal challenge and ask for sponsorship – you could host a dinner party, run a race (we’re thrilled to have four marathon runners for Islington Giving this year), donate for wedding favours, or even hold a bake sale for us. You can set up your own page and find out much more about this at our Virgin Money Giving Site. These are just some suggestions but there are lots of things you can do so please do contact us if you’d like to discuss your plans!
5. Get your business or employer involved
No matter the size of your business, there are a wide range of ways you can become involved. We’re delighted to have support from many local businesses and we recently have launched a new business-supported employee volunteer programme, called the Businesses for Islington Giving (BIG) Alliance. Please do contact us if you would like to discuss how your business could support Islington Giving.
6. Give time
Volunteer for one of the amazing groups that we work with and support. We have a menu of volunteering opportunities on our website from just a few hours each week to mentor a child through to volunteering your skills. We also need people to support Islington Giving in fundraising, recruiting businesses and supporting running the projects that we fund.
