Monday December 6th saw the launch of Restaurant Giving at Fish Central, St Johns Square, Islington.
Restaurant Giving is part of the Islington Giving campaign and will allow people eating in Fish Central to donate £1 on their bill to help the Islington Giving cause.
Fish Central owner George Hussein is an integral part of Islington life having been involved in the local community for over 40 years. George is leading the way by launching Restaurant Giving at Fish Central and the campaign will be rolled out to other Islington restaurants in the new year.
Kristina Glenn, director of the Cripplegate Foundation, said: “When people think of Islington, they think it’s a very wealthy area but Islington’s poverty is hidden. What we’re trying to say to people is, ‘You live here, you work here, you have a responsibility – to help make Islington a better place for all of us.’
